Big 12 Conference
Kevin Weiberg, Commissioner

“The College Sports Television agreement provides an opportunity to gain additional national exposure for Big 12 championship events,” said Commissioner Kevin Weiberg, Big 12 Conference. “CSTV fills an important need for college conferences by providing exposure to high quality sports events that many times are not televised. Consultant
Neal Pilson

Although TV ratings for most sports are declining, former CBS Sports President Neal Pilson said the college network might be successful because low–profile sports are cheap to televise. “This network is not intended to compete with the big event–driven networks,” said Pilson, now an industry consultant. “It’s going to be directed to the huge numbers of college alumni all over the country. This is not intended to be a high–cost, rights fee–driven channel. They have no intention of paying rights fees at all.” top

Atlantic 10 Conference
Linda Bruno, Commissioner

“ The future is bright for CSTV and we are extremely pleased to be a part of that future,” said the Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner Linda Bruno. “CSTV presents an opportunity for the Atlantic 10 to showcase more of our student–athletes to a national audience. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with CSTV.” top

It will also provide a platform for many other Big Sky championships to be telecast.” said Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton. top

Notre Dame

Patty Viverito, Commissioner

“CSTV’s decision to make 1–AA football a prominent part of its programming mix is great news for a great brand of football. Everyone familiar with the Gateway knows great football is played at the 1–AA level, and now we finally have a national TV network to help show the whole country.” ttop
