Assistant AD for Internal Relations, Dr. Jamil Northcutt served as the keynote speaker at the 11th Annual Martin Methodist Champions of Character Convocation at the campus in Pulaski, Tenn.

The annual event honors student-athletes, team, and staff for their campus and community engagements, their reflected level of character traits, their high aspirations for academic success, and their servant leadership.

Northcutt shared with the RedHawk Athletic Department his five "I's of a Champion" - stressing the value of having high character, regardless of the situation.

The mission of the NAIA Champions of Character Program is to provide training to ensure character is demonstrated through conduct as well as competition, so students know, do and value the right thing in all areas of life. Through the Champions of Character program, the NAIA is promoting five core character values that are crucial to the development of our youth: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

    I am not and never have been an Ole Miss fan. I am however a Coach Freeze fan. I like what he represents in today's world of big time sports and what he stands for in leading young men of today into a more responsible role. He is everything that Ole Miss has never had. I am on his band wagon winning or losing.
