Northern Illinois Athletics extends its sincere condolences to the family, and the Tribune family, of Bill Jauss, a Chicago sportswriting giant, who covered the Huskies for many, many years up until the time he retired from the Chicago Tribune, after 50 years, in 2005.
While most of us currently working at Northern Illinois - especially in the external areas - unfortunately did not have the pleasure of interacting with "Jaussie" on a regular basis, the smiles that his name brings to those Huskies that knew him is universal.
I know that Huskie fans enjoyed reading his many, many stories on Northern Illinois. He and his wife, Kenmar, who passed away in 2010, were fixtures in the Huskie Stadium press box.
