#VFL Blake Forsythe Wins Rawlings Gold Glove Award

Former Tennessee baseball standout and current Binghamton Mets catcher Blake Forsythe (2008-10) has been named a Rawlings Gold Glove recipient for defensive excellence at his position this season.

In his first year at Double-A, Forsythe committed just one error in 80 games behind the plate. He ranked second in the MiLB Eastern League with 701 total chances and compiled a league-best .999 fielding percentage.

A third-round selection in the 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft, the Memphis native threw out a career best 36 percent (31-for-87) of attempted base-stealers, the sixth best mark in the league.
