In honor of the 40th anniversary of Title IX, the Knoxville News Sentinel is profiling this summer women athletes who have trained or competed in the Knoxville area. Tuesday's feature is on Benita Fitzgerald-Mosley, a sprinter/hurdler for the Lady Vols from 1979-83.

After earning All-America honors 14 times at UT and helping the Lady Vols win the 1981 AIAW Outdoor National Championship, the first national title in any Lady Vol sport, she went on to strike Olympic gold in the 100m hurdles in 1984 and has gone on to become a television executive, a key leader with USA Track & Field and chair of the Women's Sports Foundation Board of Trustees.
