• For the first time ever, Cal had two players selected in the first round of the NFL Draft while no other Pac-10 school had a player chosen. Cal actually became the first Pac-10 school since 1970 to have two players selected in the NFL Draft while no other Pac-10 school had a player picked. The last time that happened was when USC defensive end Al Cowlings (Buffalo, 5th overall) and offensive tackle Sid Smith (Kansas City, 26th overall) were both taken in the first round and were the only Pac-10 players selected.
