Fans are encouraged to check in to California Memorial Stadium using Facebook┬« Places on the Facebook  iPhone application or and share their experiences with friends on Facebook.

Through a special Facebook Deals promotion, on Saturday, Nov. 27, fans are asked to visit the Facebook Deals tent in FunZone outside the stadium prior to kickoff of the Cal-Washington game. Beginning at 9:30am, the first 20 fans to check-in to "California Memorial Stadium" using Facebook Places and show the check-in to our staff at the Facebook Deals tent in FunZone will be selected to form the fan tunnel the team runs out of onto the field before the game. All fans who show their check-in to our Deals tent will also receive a free Memorial Stadium commemorative pin and print.

Promotion Details
This promotion is scheduled to run prior to the stadium gates opening on Nov. 27. Fans must have a Cal-Washington game ticket to participate and once inside the stadium, there is no re-entry.

Beginning at 9:30am on Saturday, Nov. 27, fans who wish to participate should check in to "California Memorial Stadium" outside the venue in FunZone and show their check-in to the marketing staff at the Facebook Deals tent. FunZone is located on Maxwell Family Field adjacent to Kleeberger Lot and Memorial Stadium. The promotion will end once 20 fans have been chosen.

The Cal-Washington game marks the final home game in California Memorial Stadium under its current seating configuration. The stadium will undergo a retrofit and renovation while Cal plays its 2011 home schedule at San Francisco's AT&T Park.

Cal is one of three university athletic departments and one of five sports teams taking part in the launch.

While a larger promotion is planned for the Cal-Washington game on Nov. 27, the Cal Athletics Marketing Department also has a deal scheduled for the Cal-Oregon game.

Beginning at 2:30 pm PT on Saturday, Nov. 13, fans can check in to "California Memorial Stadium" using Places on or the latest Facebook for iPhone application and 50 lucky fans will win two free tickets to the Cal men's basketball game versus Cal State Northridge on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Fans should follow the instructions on their screens to take part.

Volleyball Goes Social

The Golden Bears are just three days away from reporting for their first fall practice of 2010. Coming off its third consecutive foray as far as the regional championship match in the NCAA tournament, the Cal volleyball team is poised to make some major noise in the premiere conference for collegiate women's volleyball, the Pacific 10.
