The excitement continues to build as we get closer and closer to our first contest in the ACC. Today is another one of those landmark days as our first ACC men's basketball schedule has been released by the league Thursday afternoon.

The conference schedule is highlighted by the Big Monday matchup on Jan. 27 against Duke and, of course, every Pitt fan is excited to see Penn State roll into town on Dec. 3 for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The squad returns three starters from last year's 24-9 team and head coach Jamie Dixon will be at the helm for his 11th season.

The countdown to full membership in the Atlantic Coast Conference is down to just over one month away. As July 1 quickly approaches, the move becomes more and more tangible and today was another of those exciting days.

The Pitt women's basketball home and away ACC opponents were announced today with Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, N.C. State, Wake Forest and Syracuse making appearances at the Petersen Events Center.

The Panthers will travel to Clemson, Duke, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Pitt's home and away partners will be Syracuse and Clemson.

Fans will have a chance to meet the leader who will take the Panthers into the ACC this season as new Pitt women's basketball coach Suzie McConnell-Serio will be at the University Club on campus on Thursday, May 30 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. for a meet and greet. Parking is available for $5 in Soldiers and Sailors garage beginning at 4 p.m.

Pitt women's basketball released their 2012-13 schedule today, which includes 14 contests against opponents who reached the postseason last year.

The women will join the men on Oct. 12 for an outdoor Midnight Madness to tipoff the season. The event will take place on a floor constructed on Bigelow Boulevard, located between the Cathedral of Learning and the William Pitt Union.

Men's Basketball Schedule Announced


Pitt's 2012-13 men's basketball schedule has been released and will feature home games against Connecticut, Syracuse, Notre Dame and Villanova in the program's final season in the Big East Conference.

The Panthers are also looking forward to tipping off the season with an outdoor Midnight Madness on Friday, Oct. 12 on an outdoor floor constructed on Bigelow Boulevard, located between the Cathedral of Learning and the William Pitt Union.
