Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams was named to the All-Rookie Second Team for the 2013-14 season, it was announced earlier today by the NBA.
This past season, Adams appeared in 81 games (20 starts) for Oklahoma City and averaged 3.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and .70 blocks in 14.8 minutes.
Adams, the first New Zealand native taken in the first round of the NBA Draft, was named to the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge as part of All-Star Weekend. On Nov. 8 at Detroit, Adams posted 17 points and 10 rebounds to become the first Thunder rookie to record a double-double since Serge Ibaka in 2010.

"Already needing any kind of spark to close the Clippers out, the Thunder now needed interior help from some unlikely places.
Nineteen minutes later, OKC had both, getting the closeout win 104-98 on Thursday night because it got the help, from both the emerging Steven Adams and the there-when-you-need-him Nick Collison.
In a breakout postseason run, Adams had his best performance. The 20-year-old rookie played a career-high 40 minutes. And in it, he had his first career playoff double-double, going for 10 important points and 11 crucial rebounds. The Thunder was 17 points better than the Clippers with him on the court. He played the final 21 minutes of the game." - Anthony Slater, News OK
