Men's Basketball Postgame Coverage: Penn State

Pitt men's basketball is set to host Penn State in the squad's first Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center. Learn everything you need to know about the Panthers before ever entering the Petersen Events Center with this digital game program. To get you ready for the game, we have highlights from the Panthers' win over Duquesne on Saturday in the City Game.

The game will be broadcast on ESPNU or you can listen online at SportsRadio 93.7 FM The Fan or follow along online.

Fans are reminded that you are able to pass along your tickets to friends and family, sell them online or donate to a charity if you are unable to attend through the Panthers' digital ticketing system. The Panthers Ticket Office opens 2 hours prior to tipoff of the Pitt vs. Penn State game and will call and game day ticket sales (if available) are located at the outside windows at the front of the building.

Gates to the Petersen Events Center arena will open 2 hours prior to tipoff for the Penn State game and a free shuttle service begins operating three hours prior to game time.

For all men's basketball contests, the Campus View Club opens 90 minutes prior to tip-off during the regular season. For ACC games with a tip-off of 6 p.m. or later, the Club will open two hours prior to tip-off. For ACC games with a tip-off earlier than 6 p.m., the club will open 90 minutes prior.

Tipoff Time Set for Pitt vs. Penn State

A game time and television home have been announced for Pitt basketball's Dec. 3 matchup with Penn State in the Big Ten/ACC Basketball Challenge Presented by DICK'S Sporting Goods.

The Panthers will host the Nittany Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 with the broadcast on ESPNU.

The last time Pitt and Penn State met in basketball was on December 10, 2005, a 91-54 Panthers victory at the Petersen Events Center. Against Penn State, Pitt has claimed each of the last five meetings, 10 of the last 13 and both matchups at the Petersen Events Center. The two schools have played 145 total games since 1905-06 with Penn State holding a 75-70 advantage in the series. Penn State represents Pitt's oldest and second most common rival in its basketball history.

The ACC leads its series against the Big Ten with a 10-3-1 overall record. Last year, the two conferences tied in the event, with each league claiming six games apiece. Seven of the 14 challenges have been decided by one win or less. All 12 Big Ten teams and 12 of the 15 ACC teams will participate in the 2013 Challenge.

Full Release's Brett McMurphy is reporting from ACC meetings in Amelia Island, Fla., this week and had a chance to speak to Pitt athletic director Steve Pederson about the Pitt football series vs. Penn State.

ESPN and the Atlantic Coast Conference jointly announced on Wednesday afternoon that Pitt will host Penn State as part of the 15th annual 2013 Big Ten/ACC Basketball Challenge presented by DICK'S Sporting Goods.
